Marigold Abiss Adu’s entrepreneurial drive showed up at an early age. Her first business started in her grandparent’s shop, and in high school she collaborated with friends on various business ventures. While in university, she, together with her family, started Global Bamboo Products Limited (GBPL) a Bamboo cultivation and processing business.
Marigold moved into corporate life after her bachelor’s degree in psychology to gain experience outside the GBPL. Her main interests are business development and marketing and she still serves as principal and an active executive director for operations at GBPL.
Marigold plans to use the experience gained from Mandela Washington Fellowship to transform her company and place it at the forefront of the renewable fuel market across West Africa. She will also drive the next phase of product development to offer bamboo alternatives for agriculture, construction and textiles.
