About Us

Global Bamboo Products Limited (GBPL) is a hybrid social enterprise in the development of Bamboo and other non-timber forest products (NTFP) providing a substitute for traditional timber products. GBPL’S main focus of business is the cultivation of bamboo and processing of bamboo into products such as bamboo charcoal and briquettes, construction for housing and furnishing, and crafts. The other arm of the enterprise involves skills training, agro forestry and other sustainable alternative livelihood activities.

MISSION

GBPL is committed to impact positively in the local community and Ghana economy through the use of Bamboo, which have a wide range of socioeconomic and environmental benefits. Creating employment opportunities, improving rural skills and their empowerment through the development of their potential and increasing social and community welfare with bamboo.

The Global Bamboo Products Company is working in the bamboo value chain to create jobs and alternative sources of income for rural communities in Ghana.

The company has been engaged in bamboo development plantations for the past seven years, with a current total of about 300 hectares and expansion plans to achieve a targeted 1,000 hectares.
